Hospital Visit

There are several new posts so it may make sense to read from the bottom up.

With kids there are many firsts..first tooth, first foods, first word, etc. We experienced a first on Monday, our first E.R. visit with one of the kids. I had laid Jackson down to put his swim trunks on him so we could go to the pool. When I laid him back he started coughing and choking and said, "I need my money!" I soon discovered that he had swallowed a penny. He wasn't having any problems breathing but my dad convinced us to come out to the Drs office for an x-ray. The first x-ray was questionable so they did a second one which looked like the penny was in the trachea. We took him to Children's Mercy figuring they would probably do a bronchoscopy to retrieve the penny. At Mercy they did another x-ray which thankfully showed the penny in the stomach. We were so relieved that Jackson did not have to go through any traumatic procedures. I was more worried about an IV start than anything! He has horrible veins for blood draws! Dora was great at entertaining during the whole thing. Let me just say that portable DVD players are the best invention ever! Thankfully, the penny came out today and it, ironically, is a 2005 coin, which is the year Jackson was born!

My cousin, Adam, got married last week on the beach in FL and had a reception and dance this past weekend to celebrate. It was fun for the kids to play together. These are my cousins' kids.

Trey, Jackson, Hunter, Connor, and Dawson

Dawson was picking up younger women at the dance!

Connor, Hunter and Dawson. Don't they look innocent!

Thanks for the updates, Gina! Man, you guys have been going non-stop! I'm glad Jackson is ok - I keep worrying that Andrew is going to do the same thing sometime. You need to post a pic of your new haircut too! :)
