Almost April?

Wow, where has the time gone? I can't believe that March is almost gone! Wade and I were going over our to-do list of things around the house and mentioned things that need to get done "this spring". It occurred to me that spring is here and we will be into summer way too soon. After 2 weeks of 70 degree weather Dawson is full fledge into "shorts season". I dread any weather that warrants wearing jeans now because I know there will be a huge battle!

I apologize for our extended absence from the website. I have stayed updated with friends' pages but have not taken the time to update ours. There are many excuses why but I will spare you. Here is a run down of what we have been up to:

Basketball season for the Higginsville Huskers ended on March 7 in St. Joseph after losing an overtime game in Sectionals by 3 points. It was an exciting game, and an exciting season. We learned of Jackson's LOVE for basketball, but especially the cheerleaders. He loves the pompoms which has worried his dad! Jackson learned many cheers this year and loves to yell "Go Hucker Depense!" (translation- Go Husker Defense said by a 2 yr old!). This week started Husker baseball games where we live on Lunchables, hot dogs, cheetos, gatorade, cheezits, and late suppers at home after eating all of the above. Dawson's famous words are "I'm hungry!" They are enjoying playing outdoors and watching "Uncle Cammy" play ball.

Dawson had kindergarten screening a couple weeks ago and is excited about going to the big school. He got a 98.5% on his screening test. My 4 yr old can read well but missed his body parts- he didn't know his ankle, wrist or hips! I thought we had taught him that?! I guess he has to have something to learn!

Dawson and Jackson spent the past weekend with Ashley and Lance while Wade and I attended the Weekend to Remember marriage enrichment conference in Overland Park. The boys had a great time and we enjoyed our weekend also. However, we left our pillows at the hotel. You never realize how much you need your own pillows until you don't have them! We are still trying to find them!

There have been many exciting moments in the past month but we also had some sad moments. My cousin's baby, Isaiah, who was born with a diaphragmatic hernia in September, passed away on March 4th. He was 4 1/2 months old and had never made it out of Children's Mercy. He fought hard but was always smiling. He touched so many lives in his short life. He has gone on to a better place where he has been healed.

We are headed to South Dakota tomorrow to see family and friends. We are really excited to see "Baby Ella" and have pictures taken for Easter. Ella is our only niece who we have not seen since she was in the hospital. Pray for us as we travel!
