Days of our Lives
Wow, we have been busy lately. I keep thinking things will calm down now that summer is gone (hard to believe), but more activities keep piling on. Dawson is enjoying school. His teacher is trying to find different reading material for him so that he doesn't get bored. He has "homework" most nights, one of which is a stapled-together book that he has to read and have us sign. The first one consisted of words such as "the dog, the cat, the bear, the mouse". I laughed when he read it in 5 seconds and threw it down on the ground. I don't think I have mentioned on here before that over the summer Dawson decided he wanted his name to be Zachary. He has come home a few times from school with "Zack/Dawson" written on his papers! Jackson continues to work on potty-training. He does excellent going potty, almost no accidents there. However, he has not been so good at pooping in the toilet. This is new for me because Dawson never messed in his underpants. We switched back to pull-ups and gave up on the issue for a while. We went to the circus on Sat. and Jackson was grossed out by the smell of the elephants. I have been telling him since then that if he is going to be stinky in his pull-up we are going to send him to live at the circus with the elephants (probably not the best parenting technique!) but he has gone twice in the toilet today and tried several more times. Afterwards he said, "Now I can stay with you, I don't have to live with the elephants!" We will see if the success continues! I am writing this because I know many of you have been through this (Samantha!) and will hopefully have tips - maybe better than threatening to send him to the circus! I will update with more pictures after I get my camera charged.
