La Sous Terre

Last Saturday night we took advantage of the youth-sponsored "Parents Night Out" at our church and went out to eat for my mom and my brother's birthdays. We went to La Sous Terre in Warrensburg which is a fondue restaurant owned by my high school math teacher, Mr. Ozias. It was lots of fun but definitely not a place for children. It took us three hours to eat our food!! I think this is the first restaurant I have been to in a LONG time that does not have hot dogs, grilled cheese, and chicken nuggets on the menu! The family minus two kids!
We tracked down Mr Ozias for a picture. All three of us girls had Mr O. for class. I am not sure he ever called any of us by our names - we were all known as "Pulliam"! My sister, Alison, was reminiscing about his class the other night and said, "I learned alot from Mr. Ozias's class...like how to play bridge!" I think he was close to retirement at that point! His classes were probably the hardest classes I ever had but some of the most memorable. Many memories with my dearest friends!
Wade and I enjoy a nice evening without the kids!

My brother Camden breaks the traditional fondue etiquette and eats the chocolate with a spoon! He usually gets pretty goofy when we have family dinners. It is hard to believe he is going to be 18 tomorrow!! Camden will be graduating in May and plans to go into the ministry after college. I am so proud of the way he lives his life. He is a great kid!

Friends!

On Monday we had our friends two little boys over to play for the day. Parker is 2 and Sawyer is 7 months. Jackson had fun playing with someone other than Dawson. As I mentioned in a previous blog, he is becoming quite good at throwing tantrums. He was not too happy with me when I made him share a pom pon with Parker. Poor Jackson!! He buried his head into the floor and kicked his feet. It was quite funny to watch!

Jackson quickly got over his tantrum and posed with Parker and Dawson for this picture. Aren't they cute!

Jackson took interest in taking care of the baby. After Sawyer left, Jackson went to the basement and found one of his babies to take care of. He was excited by all of the baby gear that emerged out of storage for the day and wanted to put it to use. Needless to say, we did not let Jackson handle Sawyer the way that he handled the baby doll!!

Boys!

The boys love to get out all of the pillows and pile them up to jump on, build a fort, hide under, and the list goes on! It keeps them happy which makes us happy! However, they sometimes make me pretty nervous when they jump off or start rough-housing. They talked their dad into helping them "fly" into the pillows last night. Boys will be boys!
Wade's good at catching, too!

After a full day of playing, dancing, and jumping all that matters is they are safe and healthy. Jackson has his own bed but last night wanted to sleep with Dawson. Dawson was welcome to the change and read Jackson a bedtime book. Priceless!

Seeing this picture reminds me that I still need to go find the pillowcases to the sheet set!

Karaoke Night at Our House!

We got out the karaoke/dance machine last night- the boys had a blast! If I posted just one picture you wouldn't get the full experience of Dawson's dancing; I'm still not sure this does it justice! Here are several pics so you can get an idea! His dance moves are about at unique as his outfit!
I think Wade had fun too!

"Who let the dogs out?!"

Twins!

No, I am not having twins! My friends from high school, Josh and Sarah, just had twins- Grayson and Ethan. Dawson and I went to see them on their one week birthday, they are adorable!

Dawson was so eager to help give Ethan a snack. He was very attentive to Ethan's needs!

"This new life is hard work! And these diapers sure don't work at keeping my clothes dry!"

Grayson taking an afternoon snooze!

Dawson enjoyed holding Grayson while he was sleeping! At 7 lbs 11 oz he became heavy pretty fast!

Jackson's Birthday!

If you have never experienced Flarp before, it is quite entertain-ing, for boys anyway!! It is like playdough type stuff that is somewhat slimy feeling- when you push on it, it makes farting noises. Jackson received this as a gift from my brother Camden, although, I think Dawson actually got more enjoyment out of it! It is definitely something every boy (even the grown ones) will love. However, I'm not sure if I like my kids going around the house making farting noises all day!?!

Jackson celebrated his 2nd birthday last week. It is hard to believe he is 2 already! Although he is making it pretty obvious everyday that he is now 2 by his "tantrums" that he has started! Thanks to Aunt Ashley for the drum/instrument set! Her motherhood days will soon be here (hopefully, anyways)! Paybacks are coming!

Jackson is losing his baby-ness and seems more like a big boy now... except for the pacifier. He does still take his pacifier, mostly at night. Wade did a great job eliminating the pacifier in October when I was gone to Chicago for the weekend. The only problem was the day after I came home we left to go to Minneapolis for a week- driving 8 hrs and staying in hotels. The pacifier became a "must-have" and we have been attached ever since. I recently cut the end off one of his passies at bedtime in search of some way to break him of the pacifier. He put it in his mouth, quickly pulled it out, looked at before putting it in his mouth again with a scowl on his face. He took it out again as I told him it was broke. He frantically said, "fix it, mom, passy broke, passy needs new batteries"! It was hilarious. It made me stop and think how much of a battery-operated world he lives in with all of his toys! Needless to say, I was unable to fix that pacifier but had quite a stash to choose another!
